Trinidad and Tobago's Wendy Fitzwilliam

Wendy with son Ailan.

Who's Wendy Fitzwilliam? Fitzwilliam is the second black woman to win the Miss. Universe pageant in 1998. The pretty West Indian isn't just another beauty queen though. Wendy's an intelligent, educated philanthropist.

She was honored by the United Natiions an UNAIDS and UNFPA Goodwill Ambassador due to her work in HIV/AIDS education and awareness. She's also the person to be appointed to the high ranking position of Red Cross Ambassador of Youth for the Caribbean. Wendy's also a part of the Trinidad Guardian's Guardian in Education: Making a Difference project, a series of motivational school tours.

The former Miss Universe also holds a Bachelor of Law (LLB) degree from the Univerity of West Indies.
She's currently the Vice President of Business Development at the trinidadian state-owned, Evolving TecKnologies and Enterprise Development Company Ltd.

In 2006, she gave birth to her son Ailan. Last fall, there were murmurs she might get in the political arena and run as a candidate for the PNM party in Trinidad & Tobago. That didn't happen, but who knows what the future holds for her. Wendy Fitzwilliam does have a lot of potential.
