Miss East Africa UK Cares

Maureen Nyakaira and Pauline Long (CEO and Founder of Miss East Africa UK)

2007’s Miss East Africa UK, Maureen Nyakaira, will spend her holidays raising awareness and funds for several charities during her East African tour. Miss Nyakaira came from humble beginnings in Kampala, Uganda before arriving in the UK in 2003, so she understands personally the plight of the less fortunate in East Africa.

She will spend Christmas with the babies in Forever Angels of Tanzania and while she’s in Kenya she’ll visit Nyumbani Children’s home, as well as, New Year’s Eve/Day with the children of Rafiki Children’s home, then proceed to meet orphans in Rwanda. Miss East Africa UK will also host charity event, “Nayaka Eire Concert” in Kampala, Uganda on January 12th to raise funds for children’s charities Nyaka AIDS Orphans School and Pearl Children Care Centre.
